When it comes to being a perfectionist, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali definitely makes a close cut. Be it the story, music or the look of his lead actors in his films, Bhansali and his team spend a good amount of time on research.
His big-budget mangum opuses have the perfect cast, the perfect look and yes, he surely knows how to create surreal sets that tend to leave the audience spellbound.
After his last outing Bajirao Mastani that swept most of the film awards last year, he’s all geared up for the release of Padmavati. After courting their own shares of controversies, the trailer of the film released a few days ago and was an instant hit on the internet.
Cut to, Rani Padmini Aka Deepika.
Deepika, who will be seen playing the titular role of Rani Padmini looks like a dream in the trailer. But recreating her look for the big screen wasn’t a cakewalk for the team.
Not many know that most of her jewelry is hand-crafted and her lehengas too are hand-crafted.
Over 200 craftsmen worked for 600 days with 400kg gold to create Deepika’s jewelry for Padmavati and the video that has been shared from film’s official handle throws light on the same journey.
